Korean steel demand to slide in fourth quarter
South Korea’s Posco Research Institute (Posri) sees domestic demand sliding into the fourth quarter of 2017 while output will be down from Q3 but up year-on-year. The construction and shipbuilding sectors will lead the decline, while automotive will see stronger output, Kallanish notes.
Posri expects nominal steel product consumption in South Korea to be down -2.4% y-o-y and down -6.34% quarter-on-quarter to 13.3 million tonnes in Q4. Property restrictions…
