Kentucky Electric Steel to close in March
US special bar quality (SBQ) flats producer Kentucky Electric Steel will permanently close its doors by the end of the first quarter, just months after its parent company emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Kallanish learns from local media reports.
Kentucky Electric customers were notified that the plant will close in March, and all 113 workers at the Ashland, Kentucky, mill will be laid off, according to several local media reports.
