Kazakhstan’s steel production rebounds in May
Kazakhstan’s steelmakers increased crude steel production in January-May, according to data from the economy ministry’s statistical committee.
Output amounted to 1.82 million tonnes, up by 25.9% on-year, Kallanish notes. In May alone output reached 419,458 tonnes, more by 68.7% on-year.
In April steel production increased by 9.4% on-year to 399,960t (see Kallanish passim). In January-April output reached 1.4mt, more by 17% on-year.
