Kazakhstan flats production increases despite crude steel slump
Kazakhstan’s steelmakers increased crude steel production in September, show data from the national economy ministry’s statistical committee.
Output amounted to 353,265 tonnes, up by 16.7% on-year, Kallanish notes. In January-September production was 2.86 million tonnes, down by -7.8 on-year.
However, flat steel output in the first nine months increased by 15.7% to 1.89mt, and in September by 71.4% to 214,947t.
