Kardemir’s first-half sales decrease despite higher output
Kardemir reported a -0.6% on-year decrease in primary product sales in the first half of 2020 to 1.18 million tonnes, despite a 10.2% increase in liquid steel output to 1.27mt, Kallanish notes.
Pig iron sales decreased to 7,110t, while rolled steel products sales dropped to 674,609t from 679,827t a year earlier.
Kardemir spent TRY 231.9 million ($12.9m) on investments in H1, of which TRY 14.6m was for environmental investments.
