Kardemir ships first rail to Afghanistan
Kardemir has commenced rail shipments to Afghanistan State Railways, its first rail export Afghanistan, Kallanish learns from the Turkish steelmaker.
Kardemir is Turkey’s only rail producer. When coupled with the Middle East it is one of two rail producers in the region, the other being Esfahan Steel in Iran. Kardemir has produced 1.45 million tonnes of rail since the mill’s commissioning in 2007.
