Kardemir retains billet sales focus, foresees rebar surge

Kardemir plans to continue giving priority to billet sales over finished products in the third quarter, although it foresees a surge in rebar shipments. Overall sales are expected to grow 8% versus planned Q2 shipments to 647,000 tonnes. The Turkish integrated steelmaker plans to sell 160,000t of rebar and 123,000t of wire rod in Q3, up 42% and 1% respectively on the Q2 target.
