Kardemir reduces rebar after scrap falls below $300
Kardemir has reduced its 12-32mm diameter rebar price for the local market by TRY 145/tonne ($25) from its previous, 20-May price list to TRY 2,745/t ($471) ex-works excluding 18% VAT, Kallanish learns from the firm. This comes after fresh US-origin deals took Turkish imported scrap prices back down to below $300/t cfr at the beginning of this week.
The integrated Turkish steelmaker also lowered its 12-18mm dia round bar prices by TRY 145/t to TRY 2,762/t.
