Kardemir records historical-high profit in 2021
Kardemir almost doubled revenue in 2021, increasing it by 96.3% on-year to TRY 14.76 billion ($1.05 billion). This helped the Turkish steelmaker post a record-high profit of TRY 3.85 billion compared to a profit of TRY 60.6 million a year earlier. 2021 Ebitda rose 288% to TRY 4.9 billion, Kallanish notes.
Kardemir’s primary product sales fell 2.9% on-year to 2.3 million tonnes, while liquid steel production fell 2.2% to 2.51mt.
