Kardemir lowers rebar price as lira strengthens
Kardemir has reduced its 12-32mm diameter rebar price for the domestic market to by TRY 55/tonne ($10) to TRY 2,690/t ($480), excluding 18% VAT, Kallanish learns from the Turkish integrated steelmaker. Although imported scrap prices have increased further this week, the lira has strengthened to close Thursday at around 5.6 per dollar.
The steelmaker also reduced 12-18mm dia round bar by TRY 55/t to TRY 2,707/t.
