Kardemir lifts domestic rebar prices as scrap gains
Turkey's Kardemir has raised its prices for rebar in the domestic market, while keeping billet sales closed, as scrap import prices have remained on the rise this week, Kallanish notes.
The integrated long steelmaker's 12-32mm and 12-18mm diameter rebar prices have increased by TRY 30/tonne ($8.44/t) each to TRY 1,623/t and TRY 1,640/t, effective 4 May. The move follows a reduction by TRY 51/t a week earlier.
