Kardemir eyes value-added steel, foresees first-quarter sales decline
Kardemir plans to sell a higher share of semi-finished product than rebar again in the first quarter of 2021, as it did in 2020. Overall Q1 2021 sales, however, are projected to decrease by -8.2% compared to the Q4 2020 target, to 584,000 tonnes.
The Turkish integrated steelmaker plans to sell 138,000t of rebar, down -23,000t, and 136,000t of wire rod, up 13,000t on Q4. Sections, including rail, sales are expected to decrease by 2,000t to 106,000t.
