Kallanish proposes HMS 1 cfr India assessment discontinuation
Kallanish proposes to discontinue its HMS 1 scrap (UAE origin) cfr India price assessment.
The assessment has become difficult to carry out due to dwindling trade volumes. Although United Arab Emirates scrap exports continued to India after UAE imposed its scrap export ban, Indian Customs is now enforcing a ban on UAE-origin scrap imports into India.
Kallanish will review the scope for resuming the assessment in future if market conditions allow.
