JSW USA invests $145m in Ohio mill upgrade
In its Mingo, Ohio “melted and manufactured in the US” steel mill, JSW Steel USA will invest $145 million for manufacturing upgrades, Kallanish learns.
The company, a subsidy of JSW Steel Ltd, plans to install one of the world’s largest vacuum tank degassers (VTD) and to implement dynamic soft reduction technology at its casting operations. JSW says adding a VTD will reduce carbon emissions compared to using a traditional ejector vacuum.
