JSW Steel prepares for restart, sees output decline
JSW Steel says it is preparing to recommence operations at all locations on the lifting of the Indian nationwide lockdown.
The Indian government ordered a three-week lockdown to combat the Covid-19 pandemic starting 25 March (see Kallanish passim). JSW Steel was the first major steelmaker to announce it was suspending production.
The steelmaker reported a -5% on-year decline in crude steel output in the fourth fiscal quarter through March to 3.97 million tonnes. …
