JSW Steel commissions new tinplate mill, plans expansion
JSW Steel has commissioned a new 250,000 tonnes/year capacity tinplate mill at its Tarapur works in Maharashtra. It is simultaneously rolling out its continuous-annealed “Platina” premium tinplate targeted at the packaging industry. Production capacity for this product at Tarapur will later be doubled given the potential demand growth for packaging, the Indian steelmaker says.
