JSW Steel output grows in May
India's JSW Steel reported a 9% on-year growth in long steel output in May to 358,000 tonnes, while flats production grew 6% to 1.02 million tonnes. Crude steel output was up 4% to 1.45mt.
The Indian steelmaker recently gave crude steel production guidance of 16.95mt for the fiscal year through March 2020 (FY20), which would be up 1.5% on actual FY19 output (see Kallanish passim). Saleable steel sales are estimated up 1.5% to 16mt.
