JSW limits coke output as first-quarter shipments drop
Jastrzebska Spolka Weglowa (JSW) reported a -15.3% on-year drop in merchant coking coal sales in the first quarter to 1.45 million tonnes, although this was up 9.3% on Q4 2018. Average sales price, however, rose 4% on-year to PLN 711.11/tonne ($184.2).
Coke sales inched down -0.4% on-year and -14.1% on-quarter to 845,700t, while average sales price rose 12% to PLN 1,173.6/t.
