JSW coke deliveries decline but prices markedly higher
Jastrzebska Spolka Weglowa (JSW) posted flat on-year coking coal sales in the second quarter at 1.51 million tonnes, while coke sales slumped -14% to 856,800t.
Benchmark hard coking coal prices fluctuated in the $174-201/tonne range in Q2, averaging at $190/t, down -17% versus Q1, according to JSW. The European coke market was characterised by stability in Q2, with prices at $395/t, up $135/t on Q2 2017.
