JSW clocks 38% capacity utilisation, ramps up output
JSW Steel produced at only 38% capacity utilisation in April due to India's Covid-19 lockdown, reporting crude steel output of 563,000 tonnes. This compares with 1.39 million tonnes in April 2019.
Flat and long steel production in April amounted to 344,000t and 89,000t respectively.
The firm secured government approval to resume production since the first easing of lockdown restrictions from 20 April and is gradually ramping up output.
