JSPL furnace clocks output record
Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL)’s Angul blast furnace produced a daily record 10,845 tonnes of hot metal on 2 July, the highest output rate of any BF in India, the steelmaker claims.
The 4,554-cubic-metre BF feeds the 6 million tonnes/year steel meltshop at the Angul steelworks.
Earlier this year the firm commissioned an SMS-supplied 2.3m t/y combi-caster and restarted the 1.8m t/y direct reduced iron plant at Angul.
