Jinnan Steel plans low-carbon, hydrogen-rich blast furnace
Shanxi Jinnan Steel has signed a contract with the Central Iron & Steel Research Institute (CISRI) for a large-scale hydrogen injection project at a 2,000m³ blast furnace, Kallanish notes.
Utilising the advantages of CISRI in hydrogen metallurgy technology, Jinnan Steel plans to operate the first low-carbon hydrogen-rich ironmaking blast furnace in China. The BF is expected to lead the development of China's low-carbon ironmaking technology.
