Jilin Xinda unveils iron capacity replacement plan
Jilin Xinda Steel, in northeast China, has unveiled its capacity replacement plan for two of its existing three blast furnaces, but permissions are still under consideration by relevant authorities.
Between December 2022 and June 2024, the company aims to build a new 1,350 cubic metre-blast furnace with 1.22 million tonnes/year of iron capacity, Kallanish notes. This is also when Xinda intends to build a new 100-tonne converter (see Kallanish 31 August).
