Jilin Xinda receives second phase approval
China’s Jilin Xinda Iron & Steel has received approval of the second phase of its upgrading and transformation project, seven months after the company announced the plan, according to the Government of Jilin Province.
Phase II will mainly house a 100-tonne converter with 1.15 million tonnes/year of crude steel capacity, Kallanish notes. It will also be equipped with two ladle furnaces and one 10-strand billet caster.
