Jilin Xinda plans converter construction
Xinda Steel, located in Jilin province's Liaoyuan city, will start construction of a 100-tonne converter in December 2022.
The capacity of this converter is 1.15 million tonnes/year, Kallanish notes. Xinda Steel looks to operate the furnace in June 2024. The project also supports the construction of a molten iron pretreatment system and two ladle furnaces.
