Jilin Jianlong commissions slab caster
Jilin Jianlong has completed the upgrade of one continuous slab caster this week, according to reports.
The upgrade will help the caster to increase production capacity by 500,000 tonnes/year to 2.5 million tonnes/year, Kallanish notes. The transformed caster is able to produce high-quality carbon structural steel, silicon steel, pipeline steel, high-carbon steel and other varieties of steel, with the normal drawing speed of 1.6 meters/minute.
