Jiangsu Binxin receives blast furnace environmental approval
China’s Jiangsu Binxin Iron & Steel has received environmental approval for its new 1,250 cubic metre-blast furnace from the Department of Ecology and Environment of Jiangsu Province, Kallanish notes.
The 1.44 million tonnes/year of iron capacity quotas were purchased from Xuzhou Baofeng Special Steel. But the capacity of the new BF must not exceed 1.15m t/y due to national requirements. Total investment is CNY 362 million ($54m).
