JFE Steel restarts No.6 blast furnace at Chiba
Japan’s JFE Steel has resumed operating the No.6 blast furnace at its East Japan Works (Chiba) on 13 January after revamping it, Kallanish learns from the company’s official release.
The maintenance began last September and cost JPY 43 billion ($334 million) in total. The inner volume of the BF remains unchanged at 5,153 cubic metres, securing a capacity of about 4.5 million tonnes/year of iron.
