JFE expects lower steel output but higher profits
JFE Steel expects to reduce crude steel production to 25mt in fiscal 2022 from a previous forecast of 26mt. However, segment profit of the steel business is expected to be JPY 165 billion, which is JPY 15 billion higher than its previous forecast due to initiatives for improvement in earnings, such as domestic sales price improvement, Kallanish learns from the steelmaker.
