JFE orders CO2 CCU system from IHI
Japanese steel producer JFE Steel has ordered a carbon dioxide capture and utilization (CCU) system from Japan's IHI Group.
The system will recover 24 tonnes of CO2 per day from the exhaust gas of JFE's low-carbon pilot blast furnace and react it with hydrogen to produce 500Nm³ of synthetic methane (CH4) per hour, Kallanish learns from IHI's newsletter.
