JFE earnings beat forecasts on improving production, sales
JFE Steel’s profits beat its previous forecasts on improving production and sales in the September quarter, the second quarter of its fiscal year 2023 (FY23), Kallanish notes.
In the reporting quarter, JFE produced 6.11 million tonnes of crude steel on a non-consolidated basis, which rose just 1% quarter-on-quarter but declined 1.6% year-on-year. This took half-year production to 12.16mt, 3.8% lower than a year earlier.
