Jazeera foresees second-half demand recovery after sales drop
Al Jazeera Steel expects Gulf Cooperation Council demand to recover in the second half of 2019 following the conclusion of long holidays and based on the expectation of slightly improved liquidity in the market.
The Oman-based company's consolidated sales declined -12% on-year in H1 to 201,748 tonnes and output was down -15% to 200,757t. Revenue fell -14% to OMR 54.45 million ($141.6m) and net profit was down -77% to OMR 609.2m.
