Japan’s steel exports dip in 2022, imports stabilise
The Ministry of Finance last week reported a decrease in Japan’s iron and steel product exports for 2022, while imports were relatively stable, Kallanish learns.
The preliminary data suggests that December exports reached 2.643 million tonnes, down 3.9% from November and 4.9% on-year. This took annual exports to 31.939mt with a fall of 6.1% on a year-on-year basis.
