Japan’s July steel trade tumbles
Apart from an increase in imports month-on-month, Japan’s imports and exports have seen significant declines in July, according to data released by the Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF).
Japan exported 2.48 million tonnes of iron and steel products in July, down 19.8% m-o-m and 18.9% year-on-year, and 19.44mt over January-July, a y-o-y decrease of 2.8%, Kallanish notes.
