Japan’s August steel output falls moderately
In August this year, Japan’s iron and steel output fell on both month-on-month and year-on-year, but the y-o-y drop in year-to-date production shrank, Kallanish learns.
Monthly pig iron output lost 1.9% over July and just 0.7% on-year to 5.381 million tonnes, taking y-t-d production to 42.453mt, a yearly decrease of 2.9%, according to data from the Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF).
