Japanese steel trade weakens in January
Japan’s iron and steel trade volumes fell in January both month-on-month and year-on-year, with the only increase seen in imports on a y-o-y basis, Kallanish notes.
The month’s exports of iron and steel products totalled 2.39 million tonnes, down 14.9% m-o-m and 2.9% y-o-y, according to data from the Japan Iron & Steel Federation.
