Japanese steel production to decline 4% in Q1
Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) announced on 22 December that domestic crude steel production in the first quarter of 2023 is expected to be 22.1 million tonnes, Kallanish notes.
The figure would register a decline of 4% year-on-year, which is the fifth consecutive quarter of y-o-y declines predicted by METI.
