Japanese steel output seen up slightly in December
Japanese iron and steel output is expected to have increased just 0.1% in November before growing 2.9% in December, according to a production outlook survey by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Meti). If applied directly that would put Japanese crude steel production in December up year-on-year for the first time since August 2014, Kallanish notes.
