Japanese steel output inches down in August

Japan's steel production declined slightly in August owing to limited demand, Kallanish notes. According to data released by the Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF), Japan's crude steel output in August was 7.92 million tonnes, down by 1% on-month but up by 22.9% on-year.
