Japanese steel orders rebound on-month
In December last year, Japanese steel orders rebounded from November, but still remained lower year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
Monthly orders excluding trade between reporting companies totalled 4.926 million tonnes, up 8.4% month-on-month and down 6.2% y-o-y, according to data released by the Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF).
