Japanese steel orders pick up in August

Japanese steel product orders gained a little month-on-month in August, but remained lower year-on-year, according to data released by the Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF). Monthly orders excluding trade between reporting companies totalled 4.846 million tonnes, rising just 3.6% from July but down 3.2% y-o-y, Kallanish notes.
