Japanese steel orders open 2023 with a slip
Japanese steel orders fell again in the first month of 2023 after a December rebound, and remain lower year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
January orders excluding trade between reporting companies amounted to 4.766 million tonnes, down 3.2% from December and 2.2% y-o-y, according to data released by the Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF).
