Japanese major returns to GCC HRC market
The Japanese major is back in the hot rolled coil market, with limited allocation to the Gulf Cooperation Council, Kallanish learns.
This week, ex-Japan 2mm+ thick re-rolling grade (SAE1006) HRC is quoted at $645/tonne and ex-Taiwan at $640/t for April/end-April shipment. Meanwhile, an Indian major is eyeing market share in the GCC amid China’s absence due to the Lunar New Year holiday.
