Japanese crude steel output rebounds in May
Japanese monthly crude steel production has continued to fluctuate. It rebounded in May, reaching an annual high of 8.42 million tonnes, up 7.7% on-month and 42.2% year-on-year, Kallanish notes from Japan Iron and Steel Federation (Jisf) data.
The country’s crude steel production over January-May stood at 39.95mt, rising 9.1% y-o-y.
