Japanese auto production stabilises despite December decline
In December last year, Japan’s auto industry weakened in all aspects, but yearly production and exports were still stable compared with 2021, Kallanish notes from data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA).
December production of Japanese vehicles was down 8.9% month-on-month and 1.6% year-on-year at 699,027 units, taking yearly output to 7.84 million units, down just 0.2% from a year earlier.
