Japan foresees second fiscal quarter steel production/demand dip
According to a forecast by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI), the country expects to see both steel demand and production slump in the second financial quarter (July-September), Kallanish notes.
During Q2 FY20, crude steel production is anticipated to decline by -26% year-on-year to 19.36 million tonnes. It would be also -18% lower than the volume of 23.6mt in Q1 FY20.
