Japanese steel trade recovers in January
Japan imported and exported more steel in January on-month after the drop in the previous month, according to Ministry of Finance data quoted by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).
Japan exported over 2.59 million tonnes of steel in January, up 1.3% on-month and 5.3% on-year. Imports meanwhile stood at 632,555t, up 1.4% over month but down 1.5% from a year ago, Kallanish notes.
