Japan targets 13mt of CO2 storage by 2030
The Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC) plans to start carbon capture and storage (CCS) in Japan by 2030, committing to the country's 2050 carbon neutrality goal.
JOGMEC said its aim is to secure a CO2 storage capacity of up to 13 million tonnes/year by 2030, Kallanish notes. The 2050 goal is to store up to 240m t/y of CO2 per year.
