Strong demand, high-value-added products boost Izhstal’s 2021 shipments
Miner and steelmaker Mechel's stainless steel arm, Izhstal, increased deliveries in 2021, the company says.
Last year the plant sold 377,000 tonnes, up by 6% on-year, Kallanish notes.
Sales of hot-rolled steel increased by 5%, calibrated steel by 8% and high-precision steel shaped sections by 80%. The highest growth, of 144%, was in shipments of steel with special surface finishing, the enterprise claims.
