Izhstal increases efficiency with equipment upgrade
Miner and steelmaker Mechel's stainless steel arm, Izhstal, has completed the overhaul of its main steelmaking complex, the company tells Kallanish. The upgrade will increase efficiency of steel production.
The complex consists of an arc steel-making furnace with a capacity of 40 tonnes/day of liquid steel, a continuous casting machine, equipment for out-of-furnace steel processing, water treatment and gas purification systems.
